The year just gone and the year ahead

Gardens became even more important for people in 2020 and we were so pleased to be able to adapt and keep working to create beautiful outdoor spaces for our clients. We hired our own toilet facilities, trained the Wildroof Landscapes team in all aspects of Covid-secure working and we were able to enjoy the gorgeous weather across the Lake District as we worked too.

Both Buzy Lizzie and Wildroof appreciated the advice and support from the Association of Professional Landscapers. Government guidance and regulations were changing regularly and it was reassuring to know that we had experts in the background who understood our business and the challenges it faced. Being a member of a reliable professional body really came into its own in 2020 as they kept us regularly updated.

Looking forward, we anticipate that a lot of that Covid-related experience is going to be applicable for some months to come. It’s part of how we work now and won’t be an issue. Certainly enquiries and design work so far for 2021 are encouraging – clients realise that we can work safely and they’re keen to develop their gardens as soon as possible so that they can make the most of the spring and summer months outdoors.

For us, the opportunity to work in one of the most beautiful counties in the country is wonderful. This year we are particularly looking forward to some exciting landscaping projects in Ambleside and Windermere. It’s always rewarding to work with local materials to create gardens that look instantly established and completely ‘at home’ in their Lakeland setting.

When that environment is as beautiful as Cumbria, our gardens have to be spot on!
